Galaxies Filled With War Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Galaxies Filled With War

Free from the green ghosts of city
Greed with shallow mausoleums
Stellar fences of black raven pity
Relish your pain saved in museums
Plunder the poor with holidays
Guard the golden hollow groves
Candles by the oppressor’s grave
Invisible world watches and knows

Watch the plagues of Egypt come
The ancient czar plans an attack
Hearts hardened and sensually numb
Magicians rise from the dark cracks
The prophetic cockcrows thrice
Cadence of history and Roman fire
Another day to roll the pagan dice
Bogotá burning with praetorian liars

Fall in love with the vilest of men
Invaded with hordes of dead sages
Surrealistic moon melts like semen
Warned by the words of the ages
Let the gates be fortified with light
Julius Caesar dies without any hope
Knowledge from dark trees of night
Outlaws hang on the end of ropes

Rebels with the mark of Cain
Branded like cattle for the battle
Wheat and chaff sane and insane
Smoke and fire where angels battle
Time is the field of angers rage
Pride descends with dread and fear
Gird yourself in this fallen age
Voices of the King and true seer

Light and darkness war
Everyman amidst a choice
Every home and house torn
Listen to the captain’s voice
Who do you give your soul too?
The narrow gate calls to all
A house divided cannot rule
Caravan of beauty calls

Galaxies filled with war
