Geometrically Lovely Poem by Jibrael Jos

Geometrically Lovely

We were just two points
On a blank sheet
Somebody drew a line
Perfectly neat

You were my center
Pretty arcs I did
A circle of love
We did build

It was just the two of us
Dancing on the plain sheet
Until the third baby point
Was born. Aww so sweet!

A triangle of needs
Stretched us you know
But the circle of love
Helped us grow

Triangle to Rectangle
We did go
But the distance increased
Steadily, though slow

It became a trapezium
Before I realized
But with the polygons grace
We all aligned

Balancing the acute
And the obtuse
Till we got the angles
just right

We became a square
In the circle of love
Geometrically lovely
Together forever
Our euclidean family
