Give Me One More Chance Poem by Alfred Ramos

Give Me One More Chance

I didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel
Didn’t think I would be swallowed by a wind funnel

Did I think I was too cool?
As I played the gesturing fool

But I can right this ship
Break away from this choking slip
Just give me one more chance

Every hill has its crest
Every baby bird will leave its nest

Every storm has it lull
But not every brain stays in its skull

I now know I took you for granted
And I don’t belong on this planet
So please give me one more chance

I don’t want to spend my last ours of darkness without you
Let this be the last long journey that bring me back to you

I don’t want to have dreams of regret
The past I just as soon forget

If I have to turn my world upside down
To get a smile from your frown
Then give me one more chance

I know I was devious sinner
But I can turn this thing into a winner

There is always a small glimpse of hope
And if I have to I’ll push the envelope

I need to get out of this trance
So may I have this dance?
By saying you’ll give me one more chance
