Gizmo Poem by Tristian Ford

Gizmo

The morning is so luminous that
I close my eyes
and
I cover my face.

The night held on to me in such a
tight embrace.

The pull of the soul on the body from or to
such a place.

I heard some silent messages being conveyed
And then for a moment,
They each held the other's gaze.

Trouble gathered on one's brow seeing as
I'm so used to nightmares.

Heavy on the day and my eyes
This blaze weighs.

But then again,
The ways of darkness are similar to the sun's rays.

Warm to many but too strong for some.
The light conquers the darkness,
And
The darkness is what I must overcome.
So much time has passed unseen.
Twilight creeps upon my darkening mind.
Pepping up my spirits to manifest a higher dream.
