Glacial Calving Poem by Phil Soar

Glacial Calving

I watched the glacier calving
Returning the fresh water to it's sea
Absorbed the energy as the crash exploded
Like canon fire, the sound took my breath away
And our boat was shaken by the force
Until all became calm again
And we would wait for the warm air to start the cycle again
