Go Easy On Her Poem by Tebogo Tshegofatso

Go Easy On Her

Go easy on her, my Friend,
She does not know the trade
Of modern men in civilization,
Nor can she guide the helm
To the course of the whirlwind,
Her hands were taught to
Mould her young minds,
And to prepare bread for her
Master with meekness and love,
Therefore go easy on her,
My temperate and good friend,
But time is a cunning foe,
It tells us only of the past and
Dimly of the present moment,
So she wasn't aware of
The woe that'd befall man,
Her eyes were tender and naive,
Apt to trust and good hope,
So she believed the authorities
And other mighty figures,
To make a good future for her,
For that go easy on her, my friend,
It is not her skill with the pot,
Her handle with the tilling tool,
Or her patience with children
That should pause your innocent love,
It is her entire being the object
Of much fancy and adoration;
If it be so then go easy on her,
O loving and good friend!
