God Poem by Edward Webb

God

GOD; is such a big word,
although;
it be three letters,

it invokes in every mind,
thoughts made of what, and why,
thoughts construct us,

people live and die by this name,
wars can be
and god to blame,
he does not force, but wants blind faith,
just like the trees whom leafy pray,

once acceptance is that as we,
are not all there is to be,
and sat above, in high encase,
his sighted image shows like are face,
we, to be, his created design,
means all and everything is in his mind,

god is an artist as well as the laws,
imagination,
unimaginable too ours,

or is he obvious in sight,
omnipresent in all minds,

some deny and some embrace,
some surmise of heavens bliss,

some think he is but themselves,
others contrast and think of hells;

fire,
torment,
eternal felt,
is real
or is he not?

believing in, what proof cannot,
an act hard by a self knowing lot,

good and bad, are what we doubt;
right and wrong,
day in, day out,

knowledge a measure swung about,
why?
death?
creation?
all average out,

we on Earth revolve about,
sat thinking, think; we have it well thought out,

presumption by such a mortal felt,
Gods design, why and how,
heavens voice,
the swelling bell,
common prayer,
makes common thought,
the same heard, saw, felt chord,
of angels plucking a golden harp,
fly on wings of knowledge and art,

Imagining past,
imagination,

dreams are but of this intention,
examine these,
not days intervention,
god was never natural intention,
law is of a measured decree,
god sits unmeasurably,
so could be you and could me,
could; could, blind thoughts divinity
