God’s Word Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Word

Entrusted with God’s living word
By virtue of His grace
Believing what by faith is heard
We’ll see The Author’s face

By faith in Christ the risen Lord
In Heaven’s Living Bread
Within the power God outpoured
And in the blood He shed

This wayward world has much to share
Like silver gold and jewels
Yet all its wealth it has to bear
Is sought by blinded fools

No wine no drug could thrill us more
No ransom of a king
The key to life and Heaven’s door
Surpasses everything

The gift of God is here and now
For all who seek to live
For all who’s knee to Him will bow
Through whom God sought to give

God’s holy word in flesh and bone
The Lamb who chose to die
Saviour of souls and hearts of stone
The Lord enthroned on high

Ripping the devil’s world apart
The Temple drape in two
The same leading a sinful heart
To live through life anew

Yet who’ll receive God’s Word today?
Who’ll perceive The Light?
Who’ll believe accept and obey?
And fight the righteous fight
