Going Away Poem by Tiffny Rhodius

Going Away

There is no reason why I should remain here.
There is no pain to cling to
There is no wound to wallow in
There is no sorrow to drown in
The presence that held my existence is no more.

There are no joys to keep me here.
The rumbling laughter that captivated me is gone.
The beguiling smile that mesmerised me has vanished.
The happiness has fled not even the sadness remains.
The essence of my love is no more.

What is left of me is indiscernible.
The emptiness resounds,
The echo never dies
And the coldness encloses.
Death is upon me this day
It is taking me away.
Death is why I must go away
For there is nothing left to keep me here.
