Going Back Poem by David Blake

Going Back

Heading in no particular direction, ignoring
my intuition, I wonder deeper and deeper
into the haze. Letting go of all my fears and
dreams, I find it easy to leave my sorrows
behind. What was once unlearned is now
understood, trying very hard to believe in
what has so often remained unseen. Desire
and pain, all my emotions on fire everything
so new and alive. In a maze of hollow caves
drained of light crawling with ugly memories,
I see all my yesterday’s flying by. The peace
then comes from a far off place, the gentle
breeze, clean and fresh calling out like a lost
child. Analyzing my thoughts, so many things
to see yet the dawn from my ignorance
beckons me.
