Good Friday Jesus Poem by Norah Tunney

Good Friday Jesus

Rating: 5.0

For two thousand years
he had nowhere to hide
his arms were open wide,
exposed and vulnerable
the most broken
and wretched of men,
broken by the pain of too much loving-
so exposed and so vulnerable,
this man with the light in his eyes
this man who cried-
'Father forgive them for they know not what they do.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am an agnostic poet who loves Jesus, who knew the pain of too much loving.if I could only remain so exposed and vulnerable to life.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Norah Tunney 15 April 2017

It seems from what has been passed down that Jesus was a Saintly man. I find some of his words inspiring. And yet we don't even know if he said them or not. But he stands as a beacon of light and sometimes inspires a poem. Thanks Edmund.
