Good Things In Life Poem by Francis Duggan

Good Things In Life

I was baptized a christian on that i did not have a say
But i do not have a god now for to kneel to and pray
Off of the pathway to god i somehow did stray
Call me an agnostic or an atheist or call me what you may
We all have our life's journeys to undertake
And tomorrow from sleep some will not wake
And since death is part of life it does appear
That it is the fear of dying we only do fear
Since the universal karma it is for us all
Any good deed done out of kindness is never too small
What we put into life is what we receive
On such a philosophy i for one believe
If to your higher self you remain as ever true
Good things in life may well become your due.
