Goodbye Friend Poem by Jennifer Jarrell

Goodbye Friend

I thought you were my one true friend.
The one who would be there till the end.
But reality is I was just your new trend.
This broken friendship we cannot mend.

I thought you would always be here.
But truth is only when she's not there.
You lied and said you'll always care.
Really you need a warning label saying beware.

True friends you can call on any time of day.
In need they'll never leave you astray.
It's okay that you had to go your own way.
I now know it's just the game you play.

Reality is you my friend are untrue.
Your friendship I don't need, I have a few.
You're like a bad case of the flu.
You'll never again make me blue.

It's time for me to spread my wings and fly.
So to you my one untrue friend this is GOODBYE
