Goodbye My Love Poem by Eugene Robbe Timson

Goodbye My Love

Rating: 4.5

Goodbye my Love is all She wrote.
Into the darkness I stare
I have known love, since I met you
Still frames of smiles and laughs play through my mind, and in my soul a melody that once was the sun, moon and stars, All gone but not forgotten

I now know pain and heart ache
Into the darkness I stare.
Oh Lord shine your Love and gentle touch upon my soul tonight,
for the rain is cold and the winds are howling, the seas are rough and the moon is dull, and with a tear in my eye I know that somehow, I must let you go, I must move on, but how can I, if your essence still lingers where we use to lay, your pillow I still hold at night, the smell still as sweet, but its slowly fading away

I have known Love
I now known pain
I have learnt to laugh, I have learnt to live

Your spirit free and wild, one that I could not hold for myself, your heart wild and free.
Go now be free, spread you wings and fly, for I have known love since I met you

My tears will dry my heart will heal for I know there is a new Angel in Heaven, and I find comfort in knowing that somewhere you are there staring down at me
Till the day we meet again

Goodbye my Love I say to thee. Goodbye my Love
