Goodbye To Yesterday Poem by Somniator Moon

It’s been a year today,
Since my last day,
Faces of the ones I left behind,
Still prominent within my mind,

So long since I adorned that shirt,
No longer subjected to the dust, diesel and dirt,
Being in a game I didn’t want to play,
So glad I didn’t stay,

Now I greet a new and better dawn,
Not being a chess pawn,
Tomorrow brings me a new day,
Further away from yesterday.....
