Goodnight Love Poem by Andrew Kennedy

Goodnight Love

Rating: 5.0

Silhouettes of carved shapes,
and outlines of a grins fade.
Sheets ruffled and pillows pressed,
where shadows once layed.
Lights off and curtains down,
and a bed for two made.
Air heavy with musks delay,
and new touches ready to invade.
The walls turn grey and give in,
to cracks growing astray.
Doors creek and windows shake,
like the body once awake.
I remember the toss and turning,
of frantic gestures to please.
Now left to break,
an already uneasy day.

I don't find it in the twisting of a dirt path,
or roads paved needed to predict our next move.
Give me the time needed to get back to your heart,
this lonelyness can't heal by the moon's depart.

Goodnight love.
