Grand Harmony Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

Grand Harmony

Hail divine land!
the oldest banyan tree
the roots trailing down
to reach the entrails of the earth
then spiraling along the celestial stair
encompassing the roof of the sky
the galaxies and constellations
the multi-verses infinite

The hoary Himalayan seers
keep a count of the exact moment
in yugas and manvantaras:
each unit of eonic time spanning a hundred thousand years
in measuring the earth and heaven and space-time-continuum
when the whirling big ball of inflammable gases
exploded with a big bang and the dark empty nothingness
was peopled with splinters of different sizes and shapes
mass of gases, elements and textures
having distinctive colours, complexions

That was the moment when time rolled its carpet of space
and commenced its ministry by imposing an illusion of order
in midst of reigning chaos
and the canvas of the sky was painted in black and white

Every star acquired its new-found habitation
at a fixed point in cosmic scale
each planet and sphere set to spiral
at a preset velocity in an algebraic pattern
the coordinates determined by space-time geometry
in accord with their respective physical mass and gravitational pull

Each star-performer moving in cycles and circles
plays in celestial orchestra
its little and big musical instrument
hidden in the spangled forest of stars.
The harmonics and tonalities
issue forth into one long drawn out symphony
chiming and timing with cosmic resonance
in a matrix of musical notations
mathematically designed to perfection-
a macrocosmic hologram of energy, motion and gravitation
atom and quanta following different set of laws
in the governance of the universe

Yet no collision, no accident but every thing happening on time
not a jot upsetting the precarious equilibrium between rest and motion white energy and black energy
between the lighted spaces and black holes
alternating creation and dissolution

All verities, terrestrial heavenly, in space-time, in cosmos
function by a meta calculus and meta-geometric mathematics.
All energy transmission, every function, every operation, every activity
on a unified field works, dissolving all antinomies in a grand harmony.
