Gripping Grief Poem by robyn selters

Gripping Grief

Rating: 5.0

A choice was made upon my bed
A ransom for my soul
A price so high
I could not move
Until the threat had passed

I bargained with the gripping grief
It raged like savage beast
I pleaded for some sweet relief
From relentless heat

But gradually my mind could see
I shackled soul to truth
I knew there was no other path
If life itself would last
