Guarded Hearts. Poem by Jamal Brown

Guarded Hearts.

How can I love you, with a guarded heart?
Break the chains, tear the walls apart.
How can you trust me, when it's easy to see,
That you don't trust yourself
How can you love me?
You cry on the inside, but hide it with
a smile.
Am I the only one who sees them?
Your tears go on for miles.
Everyone is gonna hurt me. of this, I'm sure.
Are you someone worth suffering for?
For you I'd walk through hell.
I would give you my life.
Not smile in your face,
then stab you in strife.
I've made my love known
after so many years.
Let's face the world together,
And break through our fears.
