Haiku (1-7) Poem by Rogerlene Blount

Haiku (1-7)

1. Brooding Dragon sleeps
Shaken fate, ill dreams
Omens wrought in legend burn

2. Rain-swollen clouds burst
Rippled pavement stream
Reflecting street lamps

3. Two rusty benches
Honeysuckle perfumed air
Hummingbird sips nectar

4. Withered hands
Tempting sweet berries
Turtledoves

5. Painted face near the
looking glass staring
at a perfect twin

6. Delicious and hot
Crying so softly
Drowning in desire

7. Expressions frozen in sleep
awakened by the prickly
warmth of daybreak
