Hail An Old Hero Poem by Paul Warren

Hail An Old Hero

You think that I am not tough
Or made of sterner stuff
For I have stood tall when needed
And shown courage so exceeded

But I am now an older man
Who sometimes finds it difficult to stand
And I have seen and done things
That I now see only in my dreams

I know that those times now have passed
For I will remember them until my breath is last.
