Hanna Sullivan Poem by Francis Duggan

Hanna Sullivan

The mother of Marie, Catherine and James she lived in Claraghatlea most of her life
A good mother to her children and to the late Matt a good wife
Kind hearted Hanna Sullivan from life may well be gone
But she left us with good memories of her and her spirit will live on.

Easygoing, kind, wise and likeable about her she had a charming way
And if she could not help you ill of you she would not say
A role model of our younger years her with fondness we recall
And her we will remember 'til to the Reaper's scythe we fall.

Claraghatlea for her living in it was much a better place
And those who knew and loved her will miss her lovely face
Pre-deceased by her husband Matt and daughter Catherine she died in her ninety first year
And the news of her passing was such sad news to hear.

With the dead of Millstreet Parish Hanna Sullivan now lay
She was a decent human being and good in every way
One can only hope that from life her's was a painless release
In life such a good person and may she rest in peace.
