Hanukah Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hanukah

Hanukah

Must have been piece of fat
On clay, rock, stone
In a dark and hidden, house-place
Out of eyes of many who hated Jewishness
In a hut, in Izba or in pen and with pigs

That became Hanukah
Now glared as a show
Shakespeare’s on stage

Admire the first and
Take a part to defend
Jewish and others’ laws
But hate this show of lie
