Happy New Year (An Acrostic) Poem by Dr John Celes

Happy New Year (An Acrostic)

New Year Resolutions…

Halt the selfishness of heart, mind and body
Allow patriotic feelings to come up to the fore
Peaceful protests and not violent agitations
Politics that's cleansed and corruption-free
You must think of others before yourself

Neighbourly love begins with love of the inborn child
Energise the power of the youth to aim for a stronger nation
Welfare of the common man must be sole priority of all in power

Yeoman Service to the differently-abled, diseased, downtrodden and destitute
Ensure justice, equality, safety and security of all citizens
Avoid the heinous crimes through stringent laws and faster punishments
Remind yourself that country's first and come later all the rest!
