Hard To Find Poem by Francis Duggan

Hard To Find

You do not play sports or you've not been to war
And from your Hometown you've never travelled far
And you never drink in the local public bar
Though these things could not tell us of the man that you are.

Honour to the town you've never been known to bring
And so few your praises do bother to sing
But to help those in need of help you go out of your way
Without asking for recognition or pay.

You may not be seen as an achiever of the town
But you never turn your back on one who is down
Around the town your's is not a well known face
But what matters most your heart is in the right place.

Though you help those in need of help without wishing for self gain
As an unsung quiet achiever you are happy to remain
You are down to earth, honest, compassionate and kind
And your very equal would be hard to find.
