Hate Is Passion Is Love Poem by Paula Lubbe

Hate Is Passion Is Love

Rating: 4.5

The music drowns your voice out of my mind
I try to get rid of the dreams, but they just seem to get amplified.
I hate all you've said and promised and done.
And now that its in the past, my feelings should have gone.

Hate is a passionate feeling, as you've always said
And passion is love, but most of that love is now dead.
My feelings of admiration dashed and replaced in a flash
Where my heart once stood, remains only a gash.

It fills up my eyes to the brim with such sorrow
That I wish I could sleep and see no tomorrow
The passion and love I felt for you all this time
I'm turning to hate, but that's not a crime

The crime was trusting anyone new with my heart
I'm being punished for something I tried not to start
I warned you and told you the way that I was
What I predicted did happen, and you are the cause.

I hope I succeed and rid myself of these memories
I was a fool for you, blind as love is, I couldn't see.
I want to hate you, so badly, I must.
Its the only way out I feel I can trust.

Hate and love, infinitely apart yet close door neighbours. A well articulated piece of poetry, nicely encapsulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely poem with beautiful rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
