Hate V Love Poem by Maureen Pickford

Hate V Love

It's harder to hate
It takes up all your energy
And gobbles you up
From the inside out
Until a vile bitterness
Seeps, leaking
From your guts
Changing your appearance
Into a husk
Of your former self.

It's much easier to love
And radiate energy
Outwards into the world
Turning pure thoughts
Into good deeds
Nurturing others
Wishing people well
Soothing their fears
And hoping that
Things will get better.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I cannot understand where all this hate has come from since Margaret Thatcher passed away.
