Haunting Clock Poem by Barry Middleton

Haunting Clock

Rating: 5.0

the rhythmic beat
of the ticking clock
keeps me awake and seems to mock

time slips away
in the haunted night
with all the demons I must fight

the failures howl
like old regrets
and sleepless fear and long lost bets

the pendulum swings
to left and right
until I face that fateful night

then I will rest
through timeless years
without concern for scorn or tears

Clock awakes us and ticking sound of clock we hear. We get courage to work freshly with time. The pendulum swings to left and right. We feel courage and facing fabulous night. This time gives us for resting for more. Hidden truth reveals wideness. This is wisely penned poem on death topic. Death is ultimate truth of life.10
