Have You Ever Felt Your Poem by Francis Duggan

Have You Ever Felt Your

Have you ever felt your life was going nowhere
And with little reason you feel weighed down by care
And your nervous system it is in a mess
And at the slightest worry you easily stress.

Then you are not that very different to me
In every little task a huge challenge I see
And though we all have some challenge to face every day
We all look at life in a different way.

Have you ever felt your achievements are small
That as success goes you are not successful at all
I too feel that way things in common we share
And our kind of person has never been rare.

Do you never cease trying to drag tall poppies down
The egotistical bureaucrats who run the Town
You seem so like me we are not very nice
But for our narrow attitudes we pay the price.

Have you ever felt the wealthy tycoons of the State
The fear of god in the poor people create
To make them feel happy in their poverty
It must bother you to feel so much like me.
