He Already Knows Poem by Cathleen Hodgkinson

He Already Knows

Rating: 5.0

In Loving Memory Of Benjamin D. Perotti 1990-2008

Dedicated to all those whose lives he has touched, to all those
who will continue to love him through eternity.

Overwhelming grief from the depths of your soul.
The deepest pain bestowed within the core of your being.
For there is no comprehension, only to ask 'Why? '
A life taken so young, for this wasn't how it was supposed to be.
How does everyone go about his or her everyday lives?
How can the world go on,
When your world has come to a screeching halt?
And the hustle and deafening noise of life seems louder now.
Take heed, don't fight your tears,
In your defeated despair.
Some give well-intended words of condolence.
Some hold your hand and not know what to say.
Others extend consoling arms driven from heavy hearts,
For they all mean well, in their own way.
Perhaps feeling the love surrounding you,
You have a small question to ask,
'Why aren't their words of comfort
Strong enough to bring him back? '
Tears shed until you can cry no longer,
Only to weep again.
Perhaps a wish to defy destiny, to change this wretched fate,
Or to bargain or sell your soul to rewind the hands of time.
Some of us believe he is with God and Heaven above.
Others believe he is only a dimension away.
A soul so strong, he touched so many lives.
He will live on in so many ways.
In time you will see the signs, for he has never left you.
A longing to hold him, to tell him you love him,
There are so many things to say.
Take comfort, for he is already by your side,
And he already knows,
Yes, he already knows.

We know that death is a necessary journey..we all must travel. Yet..we are never quite prepared once it comes calling. But...accept it we must..for death is a natural order of the life process. My sympathy...to you...dear friend!
