Heart Of Darkness Poem by Guy Northam

Heart Of Darkness

A huge stone stuck in my gut;
A man-killer, lady-killer,
Object for emotion, a block
In its granite hardness,
Unrounded, jagged, unwholesome.
I cannot put my hands around it,
Can only understand its being there,
Its meaning all things, and one thing
Only - Despair!
