Heart Of Mahogany Poem by Emmanuel Bannister II

Heart Of Mahogany

A man with no ties other than the ones connected to my heart. I look

above for answers and my farther tells me the answer lies within, Am I

wrong to wish for a reason to live? Or is the wish my reason in living? I

thought love would fill this wound but the scars are reopened with every

failed attempt. Farther, is my destiny to be alone? To bare life without

wife or as you say my Wisdom? For me to gain the Knowledge of you

I seek the Wisdom of her and sad to say she sees only the man I am

and not the Man I’ll be, If only she unite with me to combine my heart

with thee and strengthen this old Mahogany Tree.
