Heart Shaped Cookie Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Heart Shaped Cookie

I met a day unlike
Any other.
She came down & sat beside me
Just when I finished my lunch.
I didn't want to be impolite
Or come off as rude.
This day was different
Laughing & joking,
She was full of color.
Most days I prefer my own
Company,
But this day was perfect.
She reached her arms out
& lowered my shoulders
Without warning.
I didn't want to be impolite
Or come off as rude.
I broke off a piece of the cookie
I was saving for later
& asked if she wanted a piece
Of it?
On days like today
I wonder where she is
