Heart Sounds Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Heart Sounds

I'll only say what's in my heart,
Outside this old cafe.
I am so thankful to impart,
There's coming a brighter day.

You honor me with your replies.
For I am a simple man,
It sometimes puts tears in my eyes,
Stirs my heart, as no others can.

To hear respect in the words you say,
Is more than I could ever wish,
And encouragement each and every day.
So you are tops now on my list.

The words you send, so precious to me,
Keeping you always in my thoughts,
Are sweeter than a honeybee.
Thank you for the joy you've brought.

Say hey now, hey now,
Can't you see?
You have become
The world to me!

Off to beddy bye I go, my thoughts of you
For you have shown,
The power of the pen is real.
It's made us friends for life I feel!
