Helas, si tu me vois constant en inconstance
Et changer de propos et muer de visage,
Comme le flot d'amour me reculle ou m'avance ;

Helas, si tu me vois varier d'heure en heure,
De moment en moment entre raison et rage,
Sans qu'un rien en un point un mesme je demeure :

Tu dis que je te mets en doutte, ma Francine,
Par ce qui te devroit donner plus d'asseurance
Du feu chaud de l'amour, qui boust dans ma poitrine.

Las, tu vois bien assez ce qui me fait volage :
Et qui a vu la nef en certaine constance
Çà là ne chanceler au milieu d'un orage ?

Et du cruel amour tant de tempestes troublent
Mon esprit forcené, que la raison peu caute
Son timon abandonne aux flots, qui se redoublent.

Ainsi Francine, ainsi tout par tout variable
Sinon en ton amour à faire quelque faute,
Je me montre en ma foy fermement immuable.
