Hell Poem by Petra Novakova

Hell

Rating: 5.0

light the torch and hold it up high above your head
as you walk into the mouth of the cave without fear
but remember that the Gates to Hell open only once
to let the evil in and no one out that is the rule of fire
once you reach the shell of the man you once were
now standing empty amidst all the darkness within
take hold of the long spear and twist it in the wound
to find what kind of beast you have since become
when the devil himself arrives in to claim his due
plant your feet on the ground and stare him down
for you are the King of Sin and you bow to no one
not even the twice damned trickster of brimstone
drunk on the lives you stole from the kindest of men
you shall stand victorious over the has-been-devil
take his blackened throne of bones and make it yours
for eternity to serve in this a of your own making
