Hendooneh-Chi Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hendooneh-Chi

Hendooneh-Chi

Unlike now
Grape trees were free
(Hardly cut
Their shadows
Like their fruits and their leaves)
Were friends

Under one
In Hana
We slept
Siblings and cousins
And this tree
Blanket between us and sky

In sky millions
Millions of stars
And comets (dying stars)
Were agents
Each saying “someone died”
And their souls dragged on

Stories were many
Some better in saying
Some like I, listening
Now, time passed by decades
I see how one taught us bravery in politics
“Fight the kings for your rights use each tool, all the tricks”
