Here Poem by Ernesto Torres

Here

'show your face'
he yelled being maced
at the boy
he took to destroy

From the neiborhood
he stood
watching and waiting
the boy in blue who liked to sing

One day he snatched him
not a moment to slim
and took him away
to a forest to stay

But there was something he did not know
that the boy was not slow
and landed him a blow
and away in the forest he stowed

I let the dogs out
hoping he would shout
in pain
not in vain

But there was silence
and it was imence
then i heard a word 'here'
and it sounded near

So i ran
for i am his biggest fan
i hear 'here' sing-songly
but he said it so humbly

I ran faster
to my master
past many trees
listening for his pleads

I fell into a pit
and my legs split
as he sat in a tree
calling to me

So i died there
in the sunlight stare
listening for the boy so near
the boy that called 'here'
