Here I Am Poem by Amber Mull

Here I Am

here i am staring at you
with tears in my eyes
and words that critisize
i don't mean to curse
i don't mean to hurt
but at least you should know
why i always stole your shirt
i longed to be you
pretty and smart
to get all them boys and never have to work
it was you i looked up to
and wanted to be
brother had mom
and you had dad
i was rejected
and left all alone
i was bullied and raped at 13
left in the corner as the family got along
i cried as you laughed
and cut as you danced
my body is a symbol
as a punishment i penetrate
leaving holes and scars
that no man will force
but i make as a choice

im very sorry that you have gone through something so terrible, but the way you wrote it is deep, and im glad you were brave enough to talk about something so personal
