Highland Relief Poem by babylon patrol

Highland Relief

Life in the jungle
Is never quiet
As animals rattle on
Day & night.

The heat, noise & insects,
The itchy, sticky skin:
A pulsating world
Of pain, sex & sin.

The tension of the spring
Moves the clock’s hand
Around in circles
Towards the dead end.

High on the mountain,
High on the mind
Fog, cold & rain
Help me unwind.
