History (Unfinished) Poem by minette irsay

History (Unfinished)

mistakes made long ago and far away
95 was the year can't remember month or day
13 years later and i am home with him again
time for love lost

lessons hard learned
life carried on
both of us holding our breath
we searched for another that could stand the equation

none measured up none could withstand
the test of true love lost
the yardstick happiness once glimpsed
summer breeze winter frost fall on a mountain the freshness of spring

swift moving search engine
carried my plea
where is he now
is he thinking of me

sweet messages short of a hope flickering there
are you the guinevere who once lived with me chere

answer me quick for my heart beats anew
tell me sweet princess is this really you

yes my gallahad it is I your true love
have you thought of me often do you miss me as much

are you the one who i reached out to find
oh sweet gallahad please please tell me it's you

on the wings of the internet
renewed vows never broken
nights into morning we revived sleeping passion
you in the dragon lair me in slow motion

you set to sail away me set to die
found love once again thanks to quick moving text
come rescue me gallahad come get me quick
i'll meet you at seven by the pines in new york

wait by the pines then decide what comes next
do you love me as much as the day that we met
am i still just as pretty my god you're so handsome
i can't believe what's set to happen

to those left behind
our apologies given
excuse the laughter
we've flown off to heaven
