Hitting The Road Poem by David Wood

Hitting The Road

Rating: 5.0

The wobble said 'c'mon,
Take me out
It's a sunny day'!

Deep sigh….
The first exercise is
Pump, pump and
Pump again…..

There was only air in the
Top half of the tyres,
Not the bottom half.

Then change gear,
My gear,
As my wobble has
A saddle that makes

Your eyes water!

On go the cycling shorts,
Shoes, top and helmet

I said to the wobble
'I'll peddle,
You steer'.

So, we wobbled off and
Hit the road
Though
Not literally!

And cycled, and cycled
And cycled.

Then stopped. Oh, those
Skinny tyres are so old
So, pump, pump
And pump again

As the wind blew and
Dark clouds
Gathered.

Ah, the joys of cycling! !
