Holidays Poem by Ray Hansell

Holidays

In the middle of cleaning her house
She sits down to reminisce
Remembering the good old days
Along with the happy times she misses

She thinks about holidays gone by
The family she's lost along the way
As the calendar turns it's pages
She thinks of them each day

But it's always a little tougher
Come the holiday season
Loneliness and heartache
Happen for a reason

Missing people that you love
Who are no longer here
These are still the people
Your heart holds so dear

Like everything else in life
The holidays will pass
But the memories and heartaches
They will forever last
