Home Before Dark Poem by Alfred Ramos

Home Before Dark

Before the last spark of light
Before darkness faces blight
I might find my way home
The sunset races to hide the day
I could have lied my way
Into your heart of stone
The sun never looks back at me
Storm clouds turn black with guarantee
The path home will be alone
Shadows stretch out to caress my solemn heart
Lonesome doves do their best to ease pain in part
I yield to the unknown
