Home-Sick Poem by Joe Doti

Home-Sick

Your locked in a place that you know is not home
No familiar faces to ease your lost soul
No one to push you and say its ok
No family or loved ones to make things less gray
No picket fence across the street
No horses running with galloping feet
Theres no dog that you ran to and gave all your love
Theres no truck with your stickers or your tinkerbell mugs
The one thing that stays in the memories you have
Those feelings of home that make you so glad
Do you appreciate more now that your away?
Is there more value in your past than there is today?
