Homelessness Poem by Marijo Pinero

Homelessness

Your life has without goal
You travel from city to city
In search of the 'holy grail'
But you'll never find that object
'cause it's all in your inner soul.
Your life in a society, is unacceptable
When you started to run in with the law
Your friends and relatives ignore you.
Whatever you do you always end up in the slammer.
Probation was given to you
But you ended up abusing the law.
You strived to make ends meet
By begging money from people.
Never tried to find a job to live a decent life under the sun
But when you have a chance and have more funds
You buy hard liquor to satisfy your cravings.
Then you get into trouble because of your drinking
Your homelessness is what you wish for
So be it, and do not wish for more.
