Homesick Poem by David Harris

Homesick

As the moonlight breaches the sky
turning the landscape from green to silver
and we are somewhere
a long way from home
we get the yearning
of being homesick and missing
all our loved ones.
We journey in our mind
to see their smiling faces
and will be glad to be back
in their arms once more.
The days away seem longer
than a normal day would be
and the homesick feeling grows
worse with every hour.
Remaining that way for days
until we’re home again once more.
