Hope Poem by Huseyin Abudharr Ali Diakides

Hope

Rating: 5.0

Give me an inch of hope
And I will add 5000 miles of false hope,
Even if such a feeling will land me
In the gallows of heartache I will hand you the rope.
For your love is worth dying for
And your smile is worth all the tears of the sea.
How could I ever be content with another,
For they say it isn't just the destination but the journey.

Give me a gram of hope
And I will return with 5000 tonnes of false hope
And keep fighting none stop for your laughter,
Even if it is me who ends up being the joke.
For your laughter is all I need to keep me going
And I've made my decision to never look back.
I just follow you like the moon follows the sun.
I can't let go and free myself like a monkey caught in a trap.

Give me a fraction of hope
And I will create multitudes of false hope,
Even if I drown whilst crossing the ocean to you,
I'll still believe that your eyes could keep me afloat
And as the waters of the afterlife fills my lungs,
I will dream of you and call you silently with my last breath.
Do not weep for me for I chased my dreams
And I will smile knowing I fought to the death.

Give me some hope
Any hope and I will create far more hope,
Even if it is painful I will be patient,
Because on that one piece I will learn how to cope.
I will never give in nor will I falter,
Like a knight I will fight every monster
On my route to rescue my princess,
Because I don't hope for any other.
