Hope Be Gone! Poem by Reginald Goodridge

Hope Be Gone!

For one such as I who loves to believe
in the things that he cannot conceive;

I do fight, no wrestle self -endlessly.
For the strength to let go, allow you flee;

We are a pair, many things done happily.
But, I must stay aware, -we're friends, -honestly.

And it hurts sometimes, I feel your heart -warming me?
Thus I pause, sit and stammer, -I slowly breathe...

I'll hold you close, to let you go, -my pet peeve.
Deep under my skin, and I under yours, -hope now leave!
