Hope To A Robber Na Kawalala Poem by Preston Mwiinga

Hope To A Robber Na Kawalala

But hear me now, before it's too late,
Before the bullets find their mark,
Before the darkness claims your fate,
Take a step back, and leave your past behind the dark.

You were once a child, full of hope and light,
But now you're lost, consumed by greed and fright,
You've hurt so many, left them shattered and in fright,
But you can still make things right.

Your mother cries for you, your nation pleads,
For you to change, to leave your wicked deeds,
It's not too late, there's still time to be redeemed,
Before the C5's come and take your life, it seems.

Think of the lives you've destroyed, the girls you've defiled,
Their futures shattered, their innocence filed,
Their parents' shame, the embarrassment piled,
Their sons' faces disfigured, their lives derailed.

But it's not too late, to make amends,
To heal the wounds you've left, to make amends,
To leave your past behind, and start again,
To find a way to live, and not just to gain.

You once had potential, a bright future ahead,
But now you're trapped, in this dirt cell, instead,
You could have been more, but now you're just dead,
But it's not too late, to turn your life around, instead.

So take a step back, and leave your past behind,
Before the darkness claims your fate, and you're left to find,
The light that once shone bright, but now you've blinded,
Before it's too late, and you're left behind.
